Painting A Placenta
It was a first for me to witness a father creating art roughly an hour after their baby was born, with nothing but the placenta, paint, and a canvas! G O A L S.
For fellow birth geeks, anatomy geeks, art geeks, I had the exciting opportunity to take photos of this brand spanking new papa who brought art supplies and canvas to the birth of his baby girl so he could paint and transfer the placenta onto canvas! I have never seen this before, and I think it is so freaking cool. This is #dadgoals . He was a little nervous and had some questions but ultimately dove in while mom rested on the bed and he made a masterpiece. The placenta is such an amazing organ, and to see his excitement, respect and appreciation for the work his partners body did to support the life of their baby, and to see him honor it, was absolutely a privilege for me.
